Journey
As an owner of a wellness center in South Jersey, for 6 years, with a focus on mind, body, and spirit, I found my life's work. As a wholistic skincare specialist, I thrived on the opportunity to help people feel good about themselves from the inside out. During this period I developed my own personal daily yoga practice, but it was not until I had a series of life-altering experiences that I actually became aware of the transformational benefits that yoga can provide if one is ready, willing, and open.
My path to a yogic life began with several sudden life changes that came about in a short time span. Struggles with anxiety and depression followed this upheaval and I was challenged to find my way. I committed to a daily yoga practice with a conscious choice to go within to find peace. At the time, I realized my yoga practice was my anti-depressant, my wholistic path out of despair to hope. Yoga literally saved me from plummeting into the darkness.
My practice allowed me to be fully present with everything I was feeling without judgment. But the commitment to show up every day on my mat to meditate, breathe and move was enough to change my perspective to something much greater than the mind would allow. It was then that my future came into focus. Becoming a yoga instructor was the natural next step. Fast forward 10 years and my life could not be better, even with all the changes we have had to make during the Pandemic. I am thrilled to be able to bring this life-changing practice to anyone who is ready or in need.
There is something to be said for a virtual practice, as it makes it accessible and comfortable, as you are in your own space.
I got involved with Trauma-Informed Yoga as a result of the Pandemic, fortunately, there were some great opportunities for virtual continuing-education courses. Through the BodyWise Foundation, I was able to become certified as a Trauma-Informed Teacher. I always wanted to move into a more therapeutic style of yoga. Using my time wisely during COVID, allowed me to see there was going to be light at the end of this dark time and possibly a new direction as well.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my life experiences and passions…I look forward to working with you soon!
